Join a place where ambitious science thrives
Human Technopole (Milan) is a rapidly expanding life science institute where international researchers and cutting-edge technologies converge to accelerate biomedical discovery. Our mission is to transform bold scientific ideas into advances that improve human health.
Within this mission, The Structural Proteomics Unit studies protein structure and interactions using advanced mass spectrometry–based proteomics, with a strong focus on crosslinking MS and high-throughput workflows, including single-cell proteomics. It operates state-of-the-art instrumentation and advanced data analysis pipelines within the multidisciplinary ecosystem of Human Technopole. The Proteomics Specialist will report to the Unit Manager and collaborate closely with National Facilities and research groups.
Your mission
- Develop and optimize advanced proteomics workflows
Establish robust protocols for single-cell, spatial/visual, plasma and clinical proteomics, including bottom-up sample preparation pipelines and peptide enrichment strategies. - Operate and maintain mass spectrometry platforms
Perform instrument calibration, cleaning, basic maintenance, and support automation of peptide extraction, digestion, and cleanup for diverse sample types. - Manage large-scale proteomics studies
Oversee processing and data acquisition for high-throughput projects involving hundreds to thousands of samples, ensuring quality and reproducibility. - Analyze data and support facility users
Deliver and explain results to users, contribute to experimental design and project planning, provide technical support during projects, and train internal and external researchers. - Contribute to the growth of the Unit
Support resource planning, introduce new protocols and applications, collaborate with vendors and service engineers, mentor junior staff, and participate in facility reviews and research initiatives.
Grow your skills
You will enhance your scientific and professional skills by working with:
- cutting-edge proteomics technologies, including state-of-the-art mass spectrometry platforms, automation, and advanced workflows for single-cell, spatial, and clinical proteomics.
- complex experimental design and large-scale data generation, ensuring high-quality, reproducible results in a high-throughput facility environment.
- multidisciplinary collaboration and facility operations, developing expertise in project coordination, user support, technology development, and mentoring within a leading research infrastructure.
Human Technopole supports career development through training, mentoring and dedicated learning opportunities.
