Within this mission, the ICT & Data Centre Facility Department provides the technology services and user support that enable Human Technopole’s research and administrative activities to run efficiently. The Service Desk Team is responsible for delivering reliable IT services, maintaining end-user devices and digital workplace solutions, and ensuring that researchers and staff receive timely, high-quality technical assistance. By providing responsive support and continuously improving IT services, the department contributes to a productive, collaborative, and innovative working environment.

We are seeking a motivated Service Desk Engineer to support the activities of the ICT & Digitisation Area, contributing to the delivery of reliable and efficient IT services across the organization.

 

Your mission

As Service Desk Engineer, you will provide assistance about user’s daily issues with their company assets (Laptop, Mobile Phone, …) and promptly understand and fix possible issues via tickets.

You will interact with colleagues from Administration and Research, understand the needs and will support the users with all the necessary activities to make the user experience run smoothly. You will report to the Service Desk Coordinator.

You will enhance your professional skills by:

  • Desk Support and Troubleshooting: providing technical support for various operating systems (MacOS, Windows, Linux, mobile), assisting users with company assets, diagnosing and resolving issues via ticketing systems, performing initial incident assessments, and implementing solutions remotely or on-site.
  • Hardware & Software Management: installing, configuring, modifying, and repairing hardware, software, and peripherals for end-users.
  • IT Helpdesk Services: providing a knowledgeable and reliable IT helpdesk service, managing and documenting support requests via ticketing and monitoring systems to ensure high service quality and user satisfaction.
  • Documentation and knowledge sharing: developing and maintaining up-to-date user guides, tutorials, and IT product information
  • Asset and license management: overseeing IT asset management, license tracking, and software catalogue definition for the research centre.

 

What you'll bring

Essential

  • High School/Degree Diploma in Information Technology or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an IT support, helpdesk, or desktop support role in an enterprise environment.
  • Good knowledge of Windows, MacOS and Linux operating systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Administration Portal.
  • Experience with MDM System (Jamf, Intune).
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting MacOS, Windows, Linux, and mobile operating systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Experience using ticketing systems and asset management tools.
  • Fluency in English.

 

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with command-line tools (Terminal, PowerShell, CMD).
  • Basic knowledge of Network Troubleshooting.
  • Basic knowledge of Antivirus System.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, or equivalent.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to users with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Strong customer service orientation, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering a positive user experience.
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking, with the ability to assess issues, prioritize tasks, and identify effective solutions under pressure.
  • Teamwork and adaptability, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced IT environment.

This is a permanent contract offered under CCNL Chimico Farmaceutico, Level C2.

Salary: up to € 42.000,00, depending on the seniority of the candidate.
The position is based in Milan, Italy, within our vibrant international campus.
