Within this mission, we are looking for a Senior Manager Scientific Infrastructure to lead the institute’s scientific infrastructure function and coordinate the network of Lab Managers supporting our Research Centres and National Facilities.

 

Reporting directly to the Chief Scientific Operations Officer, you will ensure that Human Technopole’s laboratories are designed, equipped and operated according to the highest standards of scientific excellence, safety, sustainability and operational efficiency.

 

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on leader capable of translating complex scientific requirements into infrastructure solutions that enable world-class research.

 

Your mission

As Senior Manager Scientific Infrastructure, you will:

 

  • Lead and develop the network of Lab Managers across the institute, ensuring harmonised laboratory standards, operational excellence and continuous professional growth.
  • Act as a strategic partner to scientific and administrative stakeholders, translating research needs into effective laboratory infrastructure and operational solutions.
  • Oversee laboratory infrastructure planning, including laboratory design, space allocation, procurement strategies, budget management and scientific equipment investments.
  • Govern the lifecycle of scientific equipment and laboratory operations, ensuring efficiency, sustainability, safety, biosafety and regulatory compliance across the institute.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, equipment manufacturers and external partners to support Human Technopole’s scientific mission.

What you'll bring

 

Essential

  • Master's degree in a scientific, engineering or related discipline.
  • At least 7 years of experience in scientific infrastructure, laboratory operations or laboratory management environments.
  • Proven expertise in laboratory setup, scientific equipment procurement and infrastructure management.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory safety, biosafety and compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing budgets, procurement activities and equipment lifecycle processes.
  • Fluency in English - HT is an international institute.

 

Preferred

  • Experience within research institutes, universities, biomedical organisations or other complex scientific environments.
  • Knowledge of LIMS, ELN and laboratory digitalisation systems.
  • Relevant certifications in laboratory management, safety or project management.

This is a permanent position, offered under CCNL Chimico Farmaceutico – Quadro level

Salary: 75k + 2,5k welfare

The position is based in Milan, Italy, within our vibrant international campus.
