Within this mission, the Population and Medical Genetics programme within the Genomics Research Centre investigates how heritable genetic information translates into phenotypic traits and causes specific defects.

 

We are seeking a Research Administrator to coordinate and manage administrative tasks related to the centre’s activities. The role includes overseeing operational processes, placing and tracking purchase orders in SAP, managing calendars and scheduling, organizing events and meetings, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures. This position acts as the main administrative point of contact for research teams, managing both internal and external communications, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the research centre.

 

Your mission

  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Head and to centre research activities, ensuring efficient workflows, calendar management, and communication.
  • Coordinate meetings, events, and travel logistics, supporting workshops, conferences, collaborations and facilitate logistics for international academic visitors and external research collaborators.
  • Support team activities such as recruitment, onboarding, and preparation of documents, reports, and presentations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, track expenditures, and assist with budget monitoring and financial reporting.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external communication related to the research areas.
  • Liaise with research teams, department heads, and external partners to ensure alignment of administrative support with research objectives.
  • Support the management of scientific projects, together with the Scientific Project Manager and Lab Manager.

What you’ll bring

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3 years of administrative or operational experience.
  • Proficiency in office software
  • Good knowledge of SAP softwares or other research management tools
  • Professional English speaking and writing skills for correspondence, resumes, project reporting and research summaries.
  • Good working knowledge of Italian.

 

Preferred

  • International experience in a research or academic environment.

 

Organisational and social skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills;
  • Good problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills;
  • Good negotiation and conflict resolution attitude;
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to manage internal and external confidential information with utmost discretion;
  • Strict attention to detail.

This is a maternity cover contract offered under CCNL Chimico Farmaceutico, Level C2

Salary: up to 40k, depending on candidate's seniority
