Within this mission, the National Facilities provide state-of-the-art technologies, expertise and services to researchers from Italy and around the world. The User Access Office (UAO) plays a key role in ensuring transparent, efficient and user-oriented access to these facilities, supporting the full lifecycle of access calls, project coordination and user engagement activities.

We are seeking a proactive National Facilities Access Associate to support the operational activities of the User Access Office and contribute to the successful delivery of access services for the National Facilities. This opportunity is designed for early-career professionals and will be offered under an Italian apprenticeship contract (Contratto di Apprendistato d.lgs 81/2015), combining on-the-job experience with structured learning and professional development.

 

Your mission

  • Support the end-to-end administration of National Facilities access calls, including publication, application management and eligibility checks.
  • Provide administrative support to applicants and coordinate evaluation and review processes, ensuring accurate documentation and record keeping.
  • Facilitate user access to the National Facilities by coordinating communications, project documentation and logistical arrangements with internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the digitalization of the user access process by supporting the development and implementation of a digital tool for managing access requests and project workflows.
  • Maintain databases and operational records, contributing to performance monitoring, reporting and continuous process improvement.
  • Support outreach, communication, training and user engagement activities to promote access opportunities and enhance the overall user experience.

What you'll bring

Essential

  • University degree in Life Sciences or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in an academic, research or life science environment.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • English proficiency and knowledge of Italian.

 

Preferred

  • PhD in a related discipline.
  • Previous experience supporting research infrastructures, scientific operations, user access programmes or grant/application processes.

Entry salary: € 32.000,00 + €2.000 welfare
