APPLICATION CLOSING DATE: 20th November, 2026
Human Technopole (HT) is an interdisciplinary life science research institute, created and supported by the Italian Government, with the aim of developing innovative strategies to improve human health. HT is composed of five Centers: Neurogenomics, Computational Biology, Structural Biology, Genomics, and Health Data Science. The Centers work together to enable interdisciplinary research and to create an open, collaborative environment that will help promote life science research both nationally and internationally.
About the Group
The Taverna group studies the cell biology of brain development and evolution.
Internship Project Description
The candidate will investigate the cell biological mechanisms underlying neuronal evolution through an integrated approach combining advanced imaging and computational analyses.
Key tasks and activities
The candidate will play an integrated role in the project, combining experimental cell biology, advanced imaging, and computational analyses to investigate the cellular mechanisms underlying neuronal evolution. Their responsibilities will span the entire experimental workflow, from the maintenance of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and culture of iPSC-derived neurons to immunofluorescence staining, confocal and super-resolution microscopy, and quantitative image analysis.
The candidate will also perform basic computational analyses of existing sequencing datasets, integrating molecular and imaging data to address the project's central research questions.
