Within this mission, the Campus Development and Facility Management Department at HT is expanding and seeking a professional with specific expertise in the design, implementation and management of Data Centre, ICT and telecommunications (TLC) infrastructure.

 

Your mission

As a Data Centre & ICT Infrastructure Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that the design and implementation of Campus infrastructures align with the ICT requirements of both the Research area and the ICT Department, including data storage and high-performance computing (HPC) facilities.

You will be also part of the development team for the realization of new buildings to complete the Research Campus and will report directly to the Design, Authorization and Verification Manager.  

Human Technopole, located in Milan MIND Area and counts more than 20.000 sqm of complex building infrastructures, highly technological laboratories and services. The next stage of development will double the current size and will open multiple services to other national institutions.

  • Periodically collecting, prioritizing and validating specifications and requirements from ICT and Research area and discuss them with the line manager.
  • Translating ICT Department strategies and technical requirements into campus infrastructure solutions, ensuring alignment between technology needs and facility development.
  • Proposing minimum technical standards, innovative approaches and flexible infrastructure design to support the evolution of ICT/TLC services
  • Collaborating with the R&D team within the relevant field of expertise.
  • Maintaining regular communication with stakeholders for information or change management.
  • Contributing to the preparation of technical specifications for ICT/TLC infrastructure and related supporting systems.
  • Setting up the multi-year ICT/TLC infrastructure implementation plan to be integrated into Campus Development long-term design, construction and maintenance plan, based on ICT Department strategies and requirements, and ensuring the delivery of the supporting campus infrastructure.Ensuring coherence and integration across procedures and sub-projects (timing, overlap, ownership).
  • Planning and managing procurement requests for necessary works, supplies, and services to design and implement new ICT/TLC infrastructures or to revamp existing ones.
  • Overseeing ICT/TLC infrastructure implementation, ensuring compliance with technical, regulatory, and project constraints from feasibility to construction.
  • Conducting site measurements and inspections during construction phases.
  • Supporting the definition and implementation of design modifications during construction, providing technical assistance to project and construction teams.
  • Assisting with authorization and certification processes (e.g., Data Centre TIER certifications).
  • Supporting CDFM and ICT execution teams during commissioning and routine infrastructure management with FM Team.
  • Maintaining organized and up-to-date technical documentation for ICT/TLC infrastructure.
  • Developing maintenance plans, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical specifications for ICT/TLC infrastructure.
  • Supporting the definition of the Building Management System (BMS) architecture, including system topology, hardware/software requirements, server deployment and integration with the ICT infrastructure, in collaboration with the ICT Department.

What you'll bring

Essential

  • Engineering Degree (Telecommunication, Automation or related field) or relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in complex ICT/TLC infrastructure or Data Centres.
  • Knowledge of ICT frameworks, networking and security standards management.
  • Experience in the design and/or development of Data Centres.
  • Fluency in Italian (both written and spoken).
  • Proficient in English, with strong communication skills in both written and verbal formats.

 

Preferred

  • Previous experience in research/hospital/university environments.
  • Previous experiences with BIM-managed projects.

 

Organizational and social skills

  • Efficient coordination and monitoring of activities;
  • Strong customer focus, with the ability to understand and address end-user needs;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and contribute effectively within a team environment;
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for effective engagement with internal teams and external stakeholders.

This is a permanent contract offered under CCNL Chimico Farmaceutico, Level C2.
