Within this mission, the ICT & Data Centre Facility Department at HT is developing a robust and unified ICT ecosystem, with the aim to help deliver reliable enterprise services and mission-critical applications. The Data Centre Facility’s mission is to ensure the highest standards of availability and technical agility, bridging the gap between sophisticated IT infrastructure and groundbreaking life science research.
We are seeking an ambitious Bioinformatician - Scientific Computing Support to support the activities of the Data the Centre Facility in the ICT & Digitisation Area.
Your mission
As Bioinformatician - Scientific Computing Support, you will be responsible for the implementation and continued maintenance of various IT systems, with a focus on scientific software and services and supporting computational researchers in their daily activities. You will report to the Scientific Computing Support Manager.

- Deploying, configuring, and managing scientific software and services.
- Deploying and managing bioinformatics pipelines.
- Training end users on programming languages, scientific software, and tools.
- Providing end-user support.
What you'll bring
Essential
- University degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or related fields.
- 3 Years of experience in this or in a similar role.
- Strong working experience in R and Bioconductor.
- Strong working experience in Python, BioPython (or similar).
- Strong knowledge experience of the main bioinformatics data type, formats and tools (bedtools, samtools, BWA, STAR, Cellranger).
- Working knowledge with Git, Github and/or Gitlab.
- Strong working experience with Posit Team (previously RStudio Enterprise).
- Working experience with SLURM job scheduler.
- Fluent in oral and written English and Italian.
Preferred
- Working experience with Statistical Analysis and/or Machine Learning.
- Working experience as administrator of HPC systems.
- Working experience in publicly funded or private research institutes.
