Human Technopole (HT) is an interdisciplinary life science research institute, created and supported by the Italian Government, with the aim of developing innovative strategies to improve human health. HT is composed of five Centers: Neurogenomics, Computational Biology, Structural Biology, Genomics, and Health Data Science. The Centers work together to enable interdisciplinary research and to create an open, collaborative environment that will help promote life science research both nationally and internationally.
HT is now looking for a Scientific Documentation Officer that will be reporting to the Scientific Advisor. The Scientific Documentation Officer will support the Scientific Documentation Office in the preparation, reviewing, and curation of scientific and institutional documents. Working closely with the Scientific Advisor, the Officer will contribute to producing high-quality written and visual materials, ensuring their clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
About the Scientific Documentation Office
The Scientific Documentation Office supports the development of internal regulatory documents related to HT’s scientific activities, as well as strategic materials that influence research directions (such as the multi-year Strategic Plan, scientific publications, and reports). It ensures the accuracy and integrity of scientific content and facilitates communication between the Faculty and the Director.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Draft, edit, review and archive scientific and institutional documents (reports, presentations, communications), coordinating inputs from multiple contributors and supporting the Scientific Advisor in preparing materials for internal and external events.
- Review scientific content intended for communication (press releases, website, newsletters), ensuring accuracy, clarity and alignment with institutional standards, and collaborate with relevant teams to ensure consistent scientific representation.
- Summarize research outputs and publications for reports and briefings, support qualitative analysis activities, and collect data and information for strategic documentation.
- Support editorial and grant-related processes by assisting in drafting and reviewing proposals/manuscripts and coordinating document revisions to ensure consistency and quality.
- Liaise with research faculty, administrative staff and external partners to gather, validate and consolidate scientific and technical information, ensuring consistent scientific language across documents.
Job requirements
Essential requirements
On the closing date for online applications, the candidate must fulfil all the following conditions:
- Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences, or a related field.
- Proven experience in scientific writing and editing, with an excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Postdoctoral or equivalent research experience.
Preferred requirements
- Familiarity with academic publishing processes, grant preparation, and editorial workflows.
- Proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
Organizational and social skills
- Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to coordinate complex documents involving multiple contributors.
- Meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
