The Human Technopole Foundation (HT) is an interdisciplinary research institute, created and supported by the Italian government, whose aim is to develop innovative strategies to promote human health and healthy aging through a multidisciplinary and integrated approach, combining genomics, computational biology, structural biology, neuroscience and health data science. HT scientists work together to enable interdisciplinary research and to create an open, collaborative environment to help promote life science research nationally and internationally. In line with its mission to serve the research community at large, HT operates National Facilities, specifically aimed at making HT’s technologies, methods and tools available to the national scientific community.
The Human Technopole Foundation is looking for a FM Building Management System (BMS) Specialist.
The FM Building Management System (BMS) Specialist supports the management, maintenance, and optimization of Building Management Systems (BMS) across the campus. This role involves working on the design, implementation, and daily operational maintenance of BMS technologies, contributing to efficiency, security, and compliance with industry regulations. The FM Building Management System (BMS) Specialist will report directly to the FM Hard & Soft Services Manager.
Human Technopole, located in Milan MIND Area and counts more than 20.000 sqm of complex building infrastructures, highly technological laboratories and services. The next stage of development will double the current size and will open multiple services to other national institutions.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
- Assist in the management, updates, and maintenance of Building Management Systems (BMS) in collaboration with external specialists;
- Support maintenance planning, cost tracking, and preparation of technical documentation;
- Contribute to the development and execution of a multi-year BMS integration plan;
- Assist in defining BMS policies, SOPs, and system specifications;
- Support BIM (Building Information Modeling) integration in Facility Management, maintaining up-to-date system records and schematics;
- Collaborate with the ICT team to align BMS configurations with cybersecurity and network protocols.
- Work with IoT platforms and data analysis tools, ensuring compliance with established technical standards;
- Participate in software logic verification and updates, under the supervision of internal specialists;
- Provide operational support to maintenance teams, assisting in daily training and BMS-related tasks;
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors on BMS projects and follow up on Helpdesk fault reports;
- Contribute to BMS data analysis and energy efficiency improvements;
- Assist in troubleshooting, configuration, and optimization of BMS technologies.
Requirements
Mandatory requirements:
- Technical Diploma;
- Minimum 3 years of experience in BMS systems;
- Knowledge of ICT frameworks and security standards management;
- Familiarity with Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM);
- Fluency in Italian, written and spoken;
- Good English proficiency.
Preferred requirements:
- Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, or related field);
- Experience with BMS in Facility Management;
- Knowledge of SIEMENS, Schneider, Trend, or ISMA BMS systems;
- Previous experience in research/hospital/university environments.
Organizational and social skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with internal teams and external stakeholders, including BMS vendors, contractors, and regulatory authorities;
- Proven ability to collaborate and work effectively within team environments;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a solid understanding of operational workflows.

Salary: up to € 41k, based on experience and seniority.
