Human Technopole (HT) is an interdisciplinary life science research institute, created and supported by the Italian Government, with the aim of developing innovative strategies to improve human health. HT is composed of five Centers: Neurogenomics, Computational Biology, Structural Biology, Genomics, and Health Data Science. The Centers work together to enable interdisciplinary research and to create an open, collaborative environment that will help promote life science research both nationally and internationally.
About Scientific Operations:
The Scientific Operations area sits at the interface between Research and Administration and drives the success of Human Technopole in areas as technology excellence, innovation, training and collaborations.
Reporting to the Chief Scientific Operations Officer, the eLearning Platform Manager will lead the creation and curation of digital learning content tailored to HT’s researchers and National Facilities, while also exploring opportunities to expand the platform into a broader science communication and outreach tool to engage the public with HT’s research and mission.
The new colleague will work in close collaboration with the Scientific Training Office, Communications & External Relations, and ICT & Digitalization to ensure alignment on training priorities, platform governance, and scientific communication needs.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Develop and manage HT’s eLearning platform, ensuring usability, scalability, smooth integrations with institutional systems, and coordination with ICT & Digitalization.
- Oversee platform maintenance, updates, and vendor relationships to guarantee reliability, security, and high-quality user experience.
- Design and coordinate the creation of digital scientific training materials in collaboration with SMEs, transforming complex topics into clear, engaging learning modules.
- Translate specialised scientific content into effective digital formats (micro-learning, videos, interactive modules, assessments).
- Partner with scientific teams, National Facilities, and cross-functional units (Scientific Training, HR Training, Communications) to align content with institutional training priorities and standards.
- Identify evolving scientific training needs and collaborate with SMEs to ensure accurate, up-to-date, and high-impact digital learning content.
- Contribute to science communication and public outreach initiatives by leveraging the platform to highlight HT’s research, facilities, and societal impact.
Essential requirements
- High-level Degree (PhD or equivalent) in a relevant scientific field, education or communication.
- 10+ years hands-on experience in a research or industry lab
- 5+ years of experience in eLearning platform management, instructional design, or digital training within academic, research, or scientific organizations.
- Proven experience creating or curating digital learning content, preferably with scientific or technical subject matter.
- Familiarity with learning management systems, multimedia tools, and online learning standards.
- Project management skills with experience in multi-stakeholder environments
Preferred requirements
- Experience in science communication or public engagement.
- Knowledge of Italian
Organisational and social skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Creativity and visual literacy in digital media production
