As part of this mission, the Human Resources Department at Human Technopole is growing and evolving to support a complex, international, and fast-developing organization. We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Head of HR to lead and further strengthen the HR function.
Your mission
As Head of HR, you will lead the full HR agenda, aligning people strategies with Human Technopole’s mission and long-term goals. You will shape policies and programs that promote performance, inclusion, development, and compliance, while leading a multidisciplinary HR team. The role reports to the Chief Administrative Officer and partners closely with senior leadership.
Main responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
- Define and deliver HR strategies aligned with institutional growth and scientific priorities
- Advise leadership on workforce planning, budgeting, and organizational design
- Lead change management and ensure future capability needs are met
Talent Management
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment and onboarding for international talent
- Drive performance management, succession planning, and leadership continuity
- Enable talent development, mobility, and deployment across the institute
Employee Engagement and Development
- Promote an inclusive, engaging, and high-performing work environment
- Collaborate and provide strategic guidance on the development of training and career development programs for non-scientific roles
- Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
Policy Development and Compliance
- Ensure HR policies comply with labour law and regulatory requirements
- Manage employee relations, disciplinary processes, and conflict resolution
HR Information Systems (HRIS) and Analytics
- Implement and optimize HRIS tools and reporting
- Use HR data and analytics to inform decisions and measure impact
Team Leadership
- Lead, develop, and mentor the HR team
- Set priorities, objectives, and performance standards
- Foster collaboration across departments

What you'll bring
Essential
- Master’s degree in HR, Labour Law, Business Administration, or related field
- 10+ years of HR experience, including senior leadership roles
- Experience in international, diverse environments
- Fluency in English and Italian
Preferred
- Broad HR expertise, including contracts, payroll, and compensation
- Strong experience with Italian CCNLs and executive frameworks
- Solid knowledge of labour law, HR best practices, and HRIS
- Experience in life sciences, research, or complex growing organizations
- Experience with international hiring, mobility, and public or non-profit sectors
Organizational and social skills
- Proven ability to lead HR strategy in complex contexts
- Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills
- High ethical standards, discretion, and cultural sensitivity
- Strategic, resilient, and adaptable mindset
