Human Technopole (HT) is an interdisciplinary life science research institute, created and supported by the Italian Government, with the aim of developing innovative strategies to improve human health. HT is composed of five Centers: Neurogenomics, Computational Biology, Structural Biology, Genomics, and Health Data Science. The Centers work together to enable interdisciplinary research and to create an open, collaborative environment that will help promote life science research both nationally and internationally.

About Scientifc Operations

The Scientific Operations area sits at the interface between Research and Administration and drives the success of Human Technopole in areas as technology excellence, innovation, training and collaborations.

Reporting to the Grants Office Manager, the Grants Officer will support HT scientists by scouting for grants and other relevant funding opportunities, coordinating grant applications and actively contributing to proposal writing.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Scouting for grants and other funding opportunities potentially relevant for HT scientists (e.g. calls for proposals from major Funding Agencies), including through regular monitoring of dedicated websites, and disseminating relevant information to HT scientists and administrators
• Supporting HT scientists in the preparation and submission of research and innovation project proposals in response to funding calls;
• Assisting scientists and other HT colleagues in analyzing and resolving administrative, financial, and technical aspects during project writing, submission, evaluation, negotiation and management
• Liaising with the relevant dedicated project managers for large collaborative projects, scientific project managers and administrators in HT Research Centers and Facilities, and other relevant HT departments (e.g. Finance, HR, Legal)

Essential requirements

• Master’s Degree
• At least 3 years of experience in supporting the writing and management of research grants
• Demonstrated expertise in drafting grant/collaboration documents
• Good understanding of funding agencies and academic requirements for grants
• Fluency in English (at least C1 level) – HT is an international institute
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office package

Preferred requirements

• Degree in Law, Political Science or International Relations

Salary: up to 48k, depending on candidate’s seniority
