About the Facility
Inside the National Facility for Light Imaging, the Human Technopole Flow Cytometry Unit, FLARE (FLow cytometry Applications REsource) is seeking a highly motivated and technically accomplished Specialist to join its team.
The Facility provides state-of-the-art technologies; conventional, spectral and imaging, and expert support to internal and external researchers, ensuring scientific excellence, innovation, and reproducibility in experimental research.
The successful candidate will play a key role in advanced experimental design, technical operations, user training, and facility development, with a strong focus on flow cytometry and complex cellular methodologies.
Your mission:
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and continuous optimisation of flow cytometry platforms, ensuring high performance and reliability
- Lead instrument calibration, quality control, and upgrades, ensuring compliance with best practices and standards
- Manage resources, including consumables, procurement processes, and supplier relationships
- Design and drive advanced multicolor flow cytometry strategies, ensuring scientific rigor and reproducibility
- Troubleshoot complex workflows and implement new technologies, automation tools, and innovative methodologies
- Act as a senior technical expert, supporting users in experimental design, panel development, and data analysis
- Deliver training and mentorship, and contribute to scientific outputs and the strategic development of the Facility
What you’ll bring:
Essential
- PhD in Biology, Molecular Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
- At least 5 years’ experience in flow cytometry, including multicolor panel design and cell sorting.
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced cellular and molecular methodologies.
- Experience in data analysis and interpretation for scientific reporting.
- Experience with instrument maintenance and quality control procedures.
- Fluency in English
Preferred
- High seniority experience within or managing a core facility/shared research infrastructure.
- Familiarity with digital facility management platforms (e.g., PPMS, LIMS).
- Experience coordinating procurement and supplier interactions.
- Proven record of scientific publications.
- Experience in training and mentoring researchers.
Organizational and social skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex technical workflows.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary environments.

Salary: up to € 50.000,00 depending on the candidate’ seniority.
