Within this mission, the National Facility for Light Imaging supports internal and external users through interconnected units dedicated to Imaging, Tissue Processing, Flow Cytometry, and Ion Imaging, with additional units joining soon.
The Imaging Unit provides access to advanced light microscopy technologies, training, and integrated support for image acquisition and analysis, covering a wide range of techniques for both live and fixed samples.
We are seeking a highly motivated and service-oriented Technician, who will become part of the Imaging team, supporting the core team as well as the users of the facility.
Your mission
- Support users in basic image acquisition and instrument setup, assisting senior staff in daily facility operations.
- Perform routine data acquisition, sample preparation, and standard laboratory procedures following facility best practices.
- Participate in equipment maintenance, quality control, and troubleshooting in coordination with internal teams and external service providers.
- Contribute to user training on instruments and routine techniques, ensuring correct and efficient system usage.
- Support inventory monitoring and coordination with suppliers and internal departments to ensure smooth operational workflow.

What you'll bring
Essential
- Master’s degree in biology, physics or another related field.
- Min. of 1 year in a technical or laboratory support role.
- Basic knowledge of wide-field microscopy.
- Basic experience of image handling.
- Knowledge of best practices for scientific data handling.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred
- PhD in biology, physics or another related field.
- Proven extensive experience with microscopy.
- Previous working experience in a core microscopy facility or in a company active in the field of microscopy.
Social and organisational skills
- Problem-solving, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Teamwork.

Salary: up to € 40.000,00 depending on the candidate’ seniority.
